Back in 2014, I made my first loose incenses. I knew how to make them long before that but I never trusted myself to know scents that would go together. On this one day, I got courageous and I developed two wonderful scents. One was called “The Ultimate” and I empowered it to bring the user the highest and best of whatever they wished for, especially love.
The second incense was called “Asskicker” and it did just that. It was to banish anyone and anything.
Both smelled absolutely amazing and I got many compliments on them. Unfortunately, because I did not trust myself to make something amazing, I did not write down any of the herbs and essential oils I used to make them, much less the proportions. It was wonderful while that batch lasted but then it was gone, never to be smelt again.
That’s life, isn’t it? We tend to think that if we find something we love, we can have it forever. This was a once-in-a-lifetime, you had to be there, blink and you’ll miss it experience.
I know there was lavender involved. That’s the best I’ve got.
We now make six different kinds of loose incense, each empowered to do something different. That does not count the amazing 7 African Powers powder that Eric makes or the powerful Hexorcist that is an incredible banishing agent for anything in this world or not. Hexorcist is so potent that I do not even list it on the website. You have to ask for it and I have to trust you know what you’re doing with it. The 7 African Powers powder, however, is on the page for dirts, dusts, salts, and powders.
Around the same time I made my fleeting batch of The Ultimate and Asskicker, Eric used the traditional recipe for 7 African powers, mixing specific herbs and resins in a designated configuration, pounding and powdering and crushing and combining. We were stunned by how enchanting and spiritually uplifting the scent was when he was done. The combination of those six ingredients (the 7th power is the person who makes the powder) was far more than what the sum total would be of the six when used individually.
This is a video of Eric sharing exactly how he makes our 7 African Powers powder.
Our current loose incenses
After my first phenomenal success with loose incense that I could not reproduce, I did write down the recipes for my subsequent mixes and those are the same loose incenses we sell today: (shown above)
Sacred Space: Creates a sacred and energized environment for any sort of spiritual work. It smells like a temple incense with heavy resins like frankincense, dragon’s blood, myrrh, and copal.
Witches’ Broom: Clears and cleans any person, object, or space, eliminating extraneous energy, especially negative, and returning what it touches to baseline energy function. It smells like the finest, cleanest, most organic cleansing herbs imaginable (because that is what we use to make it) including sage, cedar, sweetgrass, sagebrush, lavender, and a touch of juniper.
Good Luck: Opens your spirit to receive good fortune, aligns you with your best outcome, and draws happy coincidences to you, such as being in the right place at the right time to benefit from something you might have otherwise missed. The primary scents are calendula, dragon’s blood, and peach.
Love: Rekindles love that is struggling, draws love to you, opens your heart to love. I make every batch of this incense from the roses Eric has brought to me over the past thirty years, so they are filled with love. The primary scents are rose, lavender, and apple.
GTFO: A banishing incense that removes a person, relationship, or situation. The main ingredients are rosemary, sagebrush, juniper, asatoefida, and some proprietary ingredients.
Money: Draws money to you and opens your spirit to receive, accept, and accumulate wealth. Primary ingredients are calendula, vervain, lemongrass, patchouli, sandalwood, myrrh, cinquefoil, bay, and other nicely smelly things.
How to use them
We use them to dress every candle we burn for clients or send to clients. These six incenses cover any need that anyone can have. You can:
Sprinkle them onto the tops of prayer candles (but don’t use enough to overwhelm the flame once it’s lit)
Roll oiled beeswax candles in them
Burn the loose incenses on a hookah charcoal
Add to a mojo bag
Use in the vessel of a binding ritual
Put a bit of money incense in your wallet or coin purse
Sprinkle GTFO where a person you want to get rid of will sit or walk (or put it in their shoes)
Put some in a poppet
Sprinkle onto a ritual area
Use in potpourri or a pomander
Sprinkle a bit of Love incense under the bed you share with your partner to increase intimacy between you
Place Good Luck incense right outside your front door and sweep it into your home to bring good luck to those who live there.
Place Witches’ Broom on a burning hookah charcoal and use the smoke to cleanse a home, wafting the smoke with a wing, feather, or hand fan.
Put an organza bag of Sacred Space incense in a small organza bag to place in your underwear drawer or suitcase to make it smell nice (holy underwear, Batman!).
Carry a small organza bag of Sacred Space in your pocket if you feel stressed out and smell it from time to time to ground, center, and go to your balanced and sacred mindset.
You can use the 7 African Powers powder in the same way. https://crossroadsoccult.com/dirt/ is the link to order it.
