December??
What is this madness?
I reject this. I can’t believe it. It’s already December? 2023 is almost gone? I had a great 2023 despite some challenges and I am really curious about what 2024 brings. Not curious enough to rush it, although lately, it seems as though time rushes itself. I’m 62? What? When I was growing up, we were advised not to trust anyone over 30 and now I’m more than double that, so likely twice as untrustworthy.
That being said, I’m excited that my holiday shopping is very close to done. Unlike some folks, I love holiday shopping. My list had grown since my six kids added partners, plus a grandson and his partner and there are just more people to love.
Eric and I settled on (gasp!) an artificial tree this year and only a five footer at that. I miss the smell, but I do not miss putting lights on the tree (mine has them installed) or sweeping up needles or disposing of it afterward. We used to burn our Yule tree at Summer Solstice to signify the shifting of power, but now by June, it is too dangerous to burn something as insanely combustive as a 6 month old dead tree.
I spent last week in the apothecary building up our supply of sacred sprays and washes, soaps, and loose incenses for the holiday rush and I’m glad I did! Eric and I are so honored that you folks still think of us when you buy gifts for your family and friends.
I have also been immersed in editing the December 21 edition of Green Egg Magazine and wow, we had such amazing contributors this time! Isha, our layout specialist, says this is the biggest issue she has worked on in digital form (50 pages). Still only $3.50 per issue and arrives in PDF.
